Jerry Speyer is a self-made billionaire with a net worth of $4 billion. He co-founded Tishman Speyer, a global real estate developer, manager, and owner of prime properties, and serves as its chairman and co-CEO.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1940, Speyer earned his BA degree from Columbia College and his MBA degree from Columbia Business School in 1964. He began his career at Madison Square Garden as Assistant to the Vice President. Later, he became the CEO and president of Tishman Realty & Construction.
In 1978, Speyer teamed up with Robert V. Tishman to form Tishman Speyer Properties, a privately held limited partnership. The company has completed over 356 projects with a total value of $64.8 billion. Speyer is also a member of the executive committee, a deputy chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, a vice chairman to Presbyterian Hospital, and a chair at the Museum of Modern Art.
Speyer is associated with Siemens AG, Real Estate Roundtable, YankeeNets, Urban Land Institute, and New York Presbyterian Foundation, Inc. He has been married twice and has four children.
