She encountered the 2004 and 2005 tropical storm seasons in Sarasota, which were unnerving and motivating simultaneously. The best class she has ever taken was a field course in tempest pursuing. She pursued tornadoes for 10 days in the Great Plains and saw three tornadoes. Getting to watch the tempests create and develop was astounding enough however observing the tornadoes on the ground was exceptional.
